New Puma Cardiff City Home Shirt 2011/12

Cardiff yesterday unveiled Malky Mackay as their new manager, but also unveiled their new home kit for the coming season. Having once again lost out on promotion to the Premier league, Cardiff recently parted ways with manager Dave Jones which signalled a fresh start in the Welsh capital. Malaysian business man Chan Tien Ghee took over the club in May 2010 with the aim of getting the one time FA Cup winner into England’s top flight. Having faltered in the playoffs again the Bluebirds will be even more determined to go one better next year having see arch rivals Swansea City achieve promotion in only their second season in the npower championship. The clubs new tie to Malaysia is evident in their new shirt with ‘Malaysia’ appearing across the front of the shirt. With a new manager in place, a new modern stadium in the form of the Cardiff City stadium and an experienced championship side, next season will surely be Cardiff’s time to step up and become the second Welsh team in the Premier League.

Cardiff City’s have donned the Blue jersey since 1908 and the new kit is no exception. Manufactured by Puma it also features Cardiff’s second colours of yellow and white in the form of two stripes at the top of shirt. The V neck collar is in white as are the sleeve cuffs. Malaysia is represented across the front of the shirt, while the Puma logo is on the right chest and club crest on the left.

Inter Milan poised to renew interest in Tevez

Manchester City's hopes of keeping Carlos Tevez at the club have been hit by the news that that Inter Milan's new boss is set to be a fellow Argentinean.

Marcelo Bielsa is in line to take over at the San Siro, replacing Brazilian Leonardo who is on the verge of joining PSG, and he has encouraged Inter president Massimo Moratti to sign the City captain.

The former Manchester United striker's desire to leave City is one of the worst kept secrets in football and the Argentina international could now have his dream realised with a move to Italy.

City are believed to be holding out for £40million for the forward and The Nerazzurri would have no problems in raising the funds, especially if they sell Samuel Eto'o who is wanted by a range of clubs across Europe and has expressed a desire to move.

Eto'o pondering Premier League move

Star striker not ruling out switch to English top-flight

Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o has revealed he could be open to a Premier League move this summer.

The Cameroon international has sent out mixed messages over whether he will stay with the Nerazzurri, claiming last month he would not leave the Giuseppe Meazza after lifting the Coppa Italia.

However, the 30-year-old now appears to be having second thoughts, with a switch to England possibly on the cards.

He told Il Corriere dello Sport: "I am currently considering my options. I have one month to decide as to whether I want to stay put or choose to move to the Premier League.

Proving myself

"I am now 30 years old and it is very important for me to think about my future before I sign what could be my last contract.

"I have already shown that I have what it takes to play in Italy and I now have the idea of proving myself in England."

Eto'o, who joined Inter from Barcelona two years ago, is under contract in Milan until the summer of 2014.

The striker's words could spark interest in the Premier League having been linked with a move to the English top-flight at various stages of his career.

Leaked 2011/12 Home Tottenham Shirt

Here we have a leaked image of what appears to be the new Tottenham Hotspur home shirt for the 2011/12 English Premier League season.

Tottenham are due to unveil their new home, away and third Puma football kits on Monday 20th June, but we have and image of the new Tottenham home shirt that was leaked on fashion website.

As you can see the shirt is plain white with only the navy blue Puma logo’s on both sleeves and the right breast. Tottenham’s badge also coloured navy blue will appear on the left breast.

Although the shirt doesn’t contain a sponsor in the image, the description on the Very.co.uk website states ‘Supplied with sponsors logo’, which suggests current shirt sponsors Autonomy’s name will be the last thing added to the top.

We”ll have more details as we get them.

New Adidas Liverpool 3rd Kit 2011/12

Hot on the heels of the release of Liverpool’s new away kit, they have just released their new 3rd kit for the coming 2011/12 season. The former heavyweights of English football had a turbulent 2010/11 campaign. The ousting of Hicks and Gillett from New England Sports Ventures signaled a new beginning for the Reds, who struggled in the first part of last season under the guidance of Roy Hodgson. King Kenny’s arrival in January sparked a mini revival on Merseyside; the controversial sale of Fernando Torres to Chelsea paved the way for the Uruguyan wizard Luiz Suarez and England striker Andy Carroll to join up with the likes of Gerrard, Meireles and Kuyt. A strong second half to the season, wasn’t quite enough for the 5 time European cup winners to qualify for a European spot next season, but Liverpool fans will be encouraged by the form and spirit showed by the squad under club legend Kenny Dalglish. Preparations for the new season are well under way, with the unveiling of 2 new kits; they have also signed the young English midfielder Jordan Henderson from Sunderland for around 16million and look set to be building what could be a squad to mount a serious title challenge.

Liverpool launched the Liverpool 2011-12 3rd jersey for the upcoming 2011/12 season and now it is available for sale. The kit will be manufactured by Adidas and Standard Chartered will remain the shirt sponsors. This is the last season of Adidas as The Red’s shirt manufacturers. From 2012/13, Liverpool football kits will be manufactured by Warrior Sports with whom they have signed a contract worth £25 million per season, a record deal.

Their new 3rd kit is white just like the one they wore last season. However, the designing is much different. The red is replaced by cyan, which makes up the Adidas stripes on the shoulders and the cuffs of the sleeves. Unlike the new away kit, the collar is rounded but still black. It features a black stripe running alongside a cyan stripe from the collar down to the right armpit. The Liverpool crest Adidas and Standard Chartered logos are also in blue. The shirt is manufactured using Adidas’ special sweat absorbing technology ClimaCool™ that helps the player remain dry. The shirt also remains lightweight even after absorbing sweat this it is comfortable for the player.

Liverpool undecided on quitting Anfield

Liverpool have generated some interest in selling naming rights for a proposed new stadium but a senior official insists a final decision on whether to move or redevelop Anfield has yet to be taken.

According to Billy Hogan, managing director of Fenway Sports Management - the global commercial arm of club owners Fenway Sports Group - the primary consideration has to be ensuring the club can compete financially with their main rivals.

"We see Liverpool as a truly global proposition from a marketing standpoint and a naming rights partnership with Liverpool Football Club is really unlike any other thing there is out there," Hogan told Bloomberg.

"It's something we've seen some interest in and we'll continue to have those conversations."

Hogan added that the final decision will "rest on which opportunity allows us to keep generating revenue to compete with the rest of our competition in the Premier League".

It is believed FSG's preferred option is to increase both the capacity and corporate opportunities at Anfield, as they did when they took over at baseball side Boston Red Sox.

But that could still pose some issues in restricting match-day income and plans for a new build in Stanley Park have not been ruled out.

Under the terms of the agreement struck when plans were first drawn up for the new stadium project the club did have until the end of this month to take up the option of the 999-year lease they agreed with the city council for land in Stanley Park.

With discussions between the two parties continuing, however, that may be subject to change.

De Laet in Norwich medical

Skysports.com understands Norwich are closing in on the loan signing of Manchester United defender Ritchie de Laet.

De Laet impressed during loan spells with Championship trio Preston, Sheffield United and Portsmouth last season.

The 22-year-old is highly-rated at Old Trafford and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes a loan spell in the Premier League is the next stage in the defender's development.

A number of clubs are believed to have expressed an interest in signing De Laet, but Norwich look set to win the race for his signature.

Canaries boss Paul Lambert is thought to be a big admirer of the Belgium international and is keen to bring him to Carrow Road.

The Premier League new boys have lined up a season-long loan deal for De Laet and if the former Stoke man seals the move he will become Norwich's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of James Vaughan, Steve Morison and Elliott Bennett.

Bidding War Ensues In Race For Wing Wizard: Man United, Man City & Chelsea Fight it Out for Alexis Sanchez

Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez is the subject of an intense bidding war between Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The United chief executive, David Gill, flew to meet the Serie A club’s president, Giampolo Pozzo, to discuss a £30million bid for the 22-year-old.

Gill’s counter-part at City, Brian Marwood, was in talks last weekend but failed to reach an agreement on a £27million move.
Chelsea have turned their attention to the Chile international as their long-standing attempt to sign Neymar from Santos appears to have stalled with owner Roman Abramovich unwilling to meet his £40 million buy-out clause.

The Blues bid £22million in January for Sanchez, which was rejected, but as yet have not tabled another offer, according to The Times.

Udinese are hoping the added interest from the Premier League will spark a bidding war for their star who has also attracted interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Juventus.
If United manage to steal the signing of Sanchez from under the noses of their neighbours would signify a major coup for the club.

The Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been very busy so far this summer, after signing Phil Jones from Blackburn and on the verge of completing deals for Ashley Young and David de Gea.

Tycoon Fernandes still up for West Ham deal

Tony Fernandes has told West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold the ball is in their court regarding his bid to buy the club.

At the start of the month the Malaysian entrepreneur announced he had made an offer to purchase the Hammers - on the day Sam Allardyce was confirmed as the club's new manager.

That sparked a war of words between Fernandes and Gold/Sullivan, who initially claimed he had not made an offer then later suggested it was "a joke".

Sullivan then further attacked Fernandes, who had used his Twitter account to announce his bid, by suggesting the takeover move was simply "PR".

Hammers chairman Sullivan later added: "Tony Fernandes wanted to buy 51% of the club for two bob.

"He thinks somehow that we are desperate to have him involved or desperate for the small amount of money he offered for 51% of the club."

However Fernandes, the owner of airline AirAsia and Formula One's Team Lotus, believes Sullivan and Gold were impetuous with their response as they failed to assess his bid in full.

"We put an offer in, it was a good offer, they didn't like it, and the ball is in their court," said Fernandes.

"But for the benefit of West Ham - and I don't want to keep talking about this - let the new manager go in and do his bit and have some stability there.

"But if Sullivan and Gold ever want to talk to us we are there.

"We think it was something worth looking at, and if they look at it in its entirety, and begin to see what we are doing at Lotus in the next weeks when we are announcing new sponsors and things, then I think we could have brought a lot of expertise to West Ham.

"But they didn't look at the offer in its complete entirety and think about it, about the value we could bring to the club."

Asked if he would be prepared to simply invest, Fernandes added: "I am open to anything.

"But if you are going to take part you have to have the ability to make a difference. It's now up to them to come back to me.

"It's a case of 'I'm willing to help, it's now up to you'."

Fernandes has also defended why he made the announcement of his offer on Twitter, adding: "They thought it was wrong.

"But we were transparent. There was nothing in the end to say don't put it on Twitter.

"I was constantly being asked by fans about whether I was putting in an offer."

West Brom 2011/12 Shirt

Take a second look; No its not the Newcastle United shirt, It’s West Brom’s.

The new home shirt is so similar to last season’s Newcastle strip that even though you read here that it’s this years West Brom shirt, you still have to double check just in case it’s wrong.

Replace the club badge, the manufacturer and sponsor and hey presto, the Magpies shirt morphs into a West Brom shirt.

The use of colours in both the 2nd and 3rd Premiership football strips have been used well with both strips looking smart and supporter friendly which will be useful in the upcoming season in the English Premier League and carries on the current trend with clubs to have three shirts for sale in any current season.

Last Season saw West Brom finish in 11th spot in the Barclays Premiership which saw Roy Hodgson return to management after his ill fated Liverpool reign, replacing Roberto de Matteo in February 2011.

West Brom’s full club name is West Bromich Albion with a nickname of the Baggies and currently play at the Hawthorns.

Nike Manchester United Away Shirt 2011/12 Possibility

Speculation is rife about Manchester United’s away and 3rd choice kits prior to their official launch.

There has been rumours of blue, there have been rumours of black, the above image shows that white may still be on the menu as the rumour mill gathers momentum.

Not that dissimilar to last years away strip but with more black running down the shoulders into the arms, with the red band across the sleeves being removed and placed across the top of the chest instead.

The nike swoosh and club badge stay as they were and with a diamond background woven into the shirt material , it adds a degree of change from last years kit.

It’s yet to be seen if this kit will be the chosen one but adds to the mystique around the 2nd and 3rd choice shirts that Man United will be wearing next season.

Real Madrid star rules out move to United

Real Madrid and Germany star Mesut Ozil has ruled out a summer move to Manchester United in the wake of Paul Scholes' retirement.

United were interested in Ozil before he left Werder Bremen for Real last August, but the player's agent, Reza Fazeli, says there's no sign of thm coming back in for him as they begin searching for Scholes' replacement in midfield.

"We thank Manchester United for their interest but Ozil is fine in Madrid and has no intention of leaving," said Fazeli.

However, one of Sir Alex Ferguson's more bizarre recent captures, Bebe, is in talks with Turkish club Besiktas about a loan move.

Ferguson broke the habit of a lifetime buy snapping up the striker, who'd been playing in the Portuguese second division, despite never actually seeing him play.

The transfer has not worked out, with the 20-year-old making only seven appearances and scoring just twice.

I want to play for Mourinho, says Man United star

Manchester United winger Nani has opened the door to a potential switch to Real Madrid after admitting he would like to work under Jose Mourinho.

With the club set to sign Aston Villa forward Ashley Young this month there has been some speculation that Nani could be on his way out - which will only increase now he has revealed he is keen to work under former Chelsea boss Mourinho.

"I am fine at Manchester United, but it is good to hear there are other clubs interested," he said.

"Would I like to work under Mourinho? Yes, but at this moment I am fine at Manchester United."

The Portuguese wide man had a good season at Old Trafford as he helped the Red Devils to win a record 19th title, but he did not start the Champions League final against Barcelona after being overlooked by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"It was a very positive season for Manchester United, and my best individual campaign," he noted.

"I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth after not being a starter in the Champions League final.

"I was hoping to play from the start, but it is up to the coach to decide."

Agent claims Arsenal ace Samir Nasri bound for Manchester United

by Geraldine Lagard, Published Thu 09 Jun 2011 16:15, Last updated: 2011-06-09

According to an agent, Manchester United are on the brink of seizing Samir Nasri from Arsenal.

A Premier League agent has revealed through his Twitter account that on the grapevine there is news that the young Frenchman is ready to join the Gunners̢۪ bitter rivals.

Agent Peter Morrison has insisted that while he could not categorically confirm that a deal has already been struck, the surprise move of the summer so far is moving forward.

"I'm hearing reports that Samir Nasri's representatives has indeed agreed a deal enabling him to join #mufc," Morrison revealed via Twitter earlier today.

Nasri is belived to be unsettled at the Emirates given the way the Gunners have failed to challenge meaningfully for the top honours over the last couple of season.

He well knows that he has a much better chance of landing silverware with United and Old tgrafford ace Patrice Evra has urged him to move to the Theatre of Dreams.

The French international has refused to speak to Arsenal about a new contract and has told the club that he wants new players to arrive in the summer.

Nasri also told French television station TF1 that he would consider an approach from Sir Alex Ferguson.

He said: â€Å“Do I want to go to United? We should see if their interest is real and if it is concrete first."

Liverpool to Sign Cultured Set Piece Specialist?!

Keisuke Honda, heading to Anfield?
Published on June 11th, 2011

Former Liverpool target has again been linked with a move to Anfield this week. Interest in the player was high when he had an excellent 2008/09 season in Holland playing for VVV-Venlo, and at the end of 2009, after being linked with Liverpool and other Premier League and European clubs, Honda signed for Russian outfit CSKA Moskow for €6M.

This move coincided with his rise in stature in the Japanese National team, where Honda starred in the 2010 World Cup and the Asia Cup, where he was voted Most Valuable Player. Again, Honda was in high demand during the summer, but stayed in Moscow, honouring his 4-year contract.

Yesterday it emerged that Honda is ready to leave Moscow and try his luck else ware. “My life has been a series of ups and downs. Right now I’d have to say it is a downer. That includes my current situation at CSKA.” He told press.

After Honda’s personal success in the World Cup, he has become an idolised player in Japanese footballer. In a similar way to Ji-Sung Park at Manchester United, a move for Honda would provide substantial economical benefits to a club buying him, where extra revenue could be made through shirt sales in the Far East.

Known as a versatile player, Honda is recognised as an attacking midfielder, but has also been known to play anywhere across the midfield as well as left-back, and Honda is known for his passing abilities and his vision. His sweet left foot and ability to drop deep to link others into play has become a big part of his game.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has expressed his desire for a wide player and having signed Jordan Henderson during a week – fans will question just what role Honda could fill.

With another 2-years left on his contract in Russia, the fee may not come cheap, and CSKA recently showed a hands off warming to clubs. But with the player unsettled it may not be long before Honda is seen pulling on the shirt of one of the Premier League or La Liga’s elite.

McLeish new favourite for Villa job after quitting as Birmingham boss

Chelsea offer for Neymar reaches £30 million

London calling: Neymar (top left) is Chelsea's priority target this summer
Photo: AFP

Chelsea have stepped up their efforts to sign Neymar by offering Santos around £30 million for the Brazilian prodigy, according to reports in Italy.

Roman Abramovich has made Neymar, 19, one of three key transfer targets this summer - the others being Luka Modric and Alexis Sanchez.

It was claimed in Italy that Chelsea have lodged a formal offer worth around £30m, with wages of £70,000 per-week.

Neymar, who will play for Brazil at this summer’s Copa America, has said he would prefer to stay in Brazil for another season before moving to Europe.

Arsenal face competition from Tottenham and Manchester City for the signing of Lille’s Ivorian striker Gervinho. Lille claim they have already turned down an offer from Tottenham worth £10m for the Ivorian striker.

Tottenham had a similar offer for Fulham striker Moussa Dembele turned down last week and also had an offer for Brazilian international Damiao refused by Internacional, though they hope to succeed with an improved bid.

Spanish international midfielder Marcos Senna, 34, has confirmed he is in talks with Swansea over a move to the Premier League newcomers.

Senna is available after his contract with Villarreal expired. His agent Ely Coimbra said: "It is a very attractive option since Brendan Rodgers explained his ideas, and obviously because of the nice and vibrant city of Swansea."

Sunderland have agreed an £800,000 deal for South Korean striker Ji Dong-won, while West Ham will make an improved offer for Newcastle midfielder Kevin Nolan.

Liverpool are considering an offer for Roger Johnson, Birmingham’s £10million-rated central defender.

Rushden and Diamonds have been expelled from the Blue Square Bet Premier over their precarious financial position which meant they could not guarantee fulfilling their fixtures next season.

The decision to spare Manchester United’s Ravel Morrison a jail sentence for his second conviction in four months is being reviewed by Salford magistrates.

Morrison, an 18 year-old who is rated one of United’s best prospects, was given a 12-month referral order at Trafford Youth Court in Janaury for witness intimidation and warned that he would face a year in prison if he was convicted of another offence before the end of 2011.

But in May, Morrison escaped with just a fine at Salford magistrates’ court after admitting criminal damage following a bust-up with his girlfriend.

Now the sentence is being reviewed after the family of the victim in the first case complained and threatened to apply for a judicial review.

Usain Bolt: I want to play for Manchester United

Star athlete Usain Bolt has revealed he wants to swap his spikes for football boots and become a Manchester United player.

The world’s fastest human grew up supporting the Old Trafford side and reckons he has what it takes to make it into Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad.

The Red Devils’ boss has already seen the Olympic 100m and 200m champion in action when the Jamaican trained with the team in 2009.

Bolt was set to line up for his first competitive 200m race in more than a year at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo on Thursday night.

But the 24-year-old took a break from training in Norway to talk about his footballing ambitions. He said: ‘I really want to try soccer after I retire because I’ve watched football over the years and I think I could be a good contender.

‘I’m really looking forward to it and yes, I definitely think I’m good enough to play for Manchester United.

‘I’m quick, I have a little skill – I have to refine it a little bit but I should be good enough.’

He would show every player in the Premier League a clean pair of heels as his top speed when he set the 100m world record was 27.8mph, comfortably quicker than the league’s nippiest players.

What Bolt lacks in experience he makes up for in confidence as he thinks he could be as good as Wayne Rooney – the league champions’ highest paid player.

‘I am a football fan for a lot of years. I watch these guys playing, I think I can do a pretty good job,’ he said. ‘I think I could step up to the Rooneys, I think I could do well.’

The three-times Olympic gold medallist is not the first athlete to think about giving the beautiful game a go.

After a drugs ban in the early 1990s European indoor 60m champion Jason Livingston had trials with two teams – Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic.

But Cardiff rejected him when they found out who he was and Wigan did not rate his ability.

United step up Nasri pursuit

Sir Alex Ferguson determined to land Arsenal schemer

Skysports.com understands Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.

Speculation has intimated Nasri is on United's radar and skysports.com has now learnt he is the club's top target.

The talented French schemer's reluctance to engage in contract talks with Arsenal until he is satisfied their transfer targets are of the required standard to mount a title push next season has alerted Sir Alex Ferguson to his possible availability.

Despite being close to wrapping up a deal for Blackburn defender Phil Jones and Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea, amid widespread speculation Aston Villa's Ashley Young is also heading for Old Trafford, Ferguson's appetite for new signings has yet to be sated.

Nasri is seen as an ideal replacement for the retired Paul Scholes, with the centre of the field an area United's management are keen to revamp with fresh talent.

Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder has been linked but Nasri, with just a season left on his existing deal, could be a more realistic deal to finance.

Arsene Wenger would be loath to lose one of key men, especially given Nasri's exit would likely lead to other members of his squad questioning their own futures.

However, United are now ready to test Arsenal's resolve to keep a player who has previously intimated he would be open to the prospect of moving to Manchester.

Former Liverpool star could make Premier League return

Liverpool's Champions League hero Jerzy Dudek could be heading back to the Premier League - with Aston Villa a possible option.

The Polish goalkeeper has spent the last four seasons at Real Madrid but made just one La Liga appearance last term and, at 38, he sees it as time to move on.

"I have not thought about hanging up my boots yet," he said. "Look at Jens Lehmann, who returned when requested by Arsenal. My family is very happy in Spain and in Madrid. My son has a girlfriend, so my priority is to not change the country.

"But I have an offer from Spain, and Turkey and England. What is clear is that wherever I go, I have to play. Although I have been happy at Real Madrid and I consider it my home, it is now time to play again."

Villa lost Brad Friedel to Tottenham last week and, whoever gets the job Gerard Houllier vacated, he will be made aware of Dudek's availability.

Neil is ready for Hoops’ Prem War

NEIL WARNOCK insists he will be in the QPR hotseat for start of their Premier League campaign.

But the controversial manager, 62, admits his position may come under scrutiny if his promoted side make a poor start.

High-profile bosses Marcello Lippi and Claudio Ranieri have been touted as possible replacements.

But Warnock maintained he is happy with the reassurances he has received from co-owners Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone in the wake of his ally Amit Bhatia leaving the boardroom.

He said: "Every manager is under pressure if they don't get results.
"I am sure if I lost six or seven games then there would be a few more names mentioned who were in for my position.

"But that is the job we are in."

Birmingham want £8million for the striker but the Trotters will have to up their £5m bid.

Birmingham will let him go if the price is right and replace him with Marlon King.

Liverpool complete Henderson deal

By Anton Stanley

Liverpool have announced they have completed the signing of Jordan Henderson from Sunderland for a ‘substantial fee’.
A statement on the Reds’ website said: “Liverpool Football Club have completed the signing of Jordan Henderson after the 20-year-old passed a medical and agreed personal terms.

“Henderson travelled to Merseyside on Wednesday after a fee was agreed with Sunderland. He then underwent a medical examination in Liverpool before signing a long-term deal.”
Henderson who has now rejoined the England Under-21 squad in Denmark told Liverpool’s website: “Obviously it's hard to leave your local club. I'm a Sunderland lad, I've supported them all my life. But I'm really looking forward to the future now and obviously this is a massive opportunity for me. I'm really excited by it.

“Liverpool's definitely the place to help me come on as a player, and improve me. The club's going in the right direction and it can go as high as it wants.”

Manchester City Plan £61.4m for Napoli Trio.

Eastlands coach says deal for Stadio Friuli is off.

Manchester City will pursue Napoli trio Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi after losing out on Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez was the subject of a £35million bid from Inter Milan last week and City coach Attilio Lombardo has confirmed the Blues will look elsewhere for future signings.

Manager Roberto Mancini will, instead, turn their attentions to Napoli as they have a host of stars who could move to Eastlands in the near future.

Edinson Cavani, 24, could be a possible replacement for Carlos Tevez who looks likely to leave Eastlands this summer. He will cost around £18.7million.

Mancini could also make a move for his team-mate Ezequiel Lavezzi. The Argentine international can play as striker or a wide man and is available for around £18.6million.

The Eastlands boss is also after more flair and creativity in his midfield and sees AC Milan target Marek Hamsik as the ideal player.

The 23-year-old will cost £24.1million but could form an exciting partnership with David Silva.

Lombardo is adamant the deal for Sanchez is finished – for now – but welcomes any attempts to sign the Napoli trio.

“It’s true we did track Sanchez, but I think this player is more suited to an Italian club right now,” Lombardo told Radio Crc.
“I hope there can be some negotiations between Napoli and Manchester City, especially as I’d see one of their three forwards would really suit City.

“The trio of Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi would bring success to any club.

“Napoli have very strong players, but I doubt they’d release Hamsik and Cavani at the same time.

“Manchester City are tracking many players because this club wants to do well, to win and to become the most important side in Europe. Napoli have good players, so that is why we are looking at them.”

PSG Make £16m Bid For Manchester Star

New Parc des Princes owners want Old Trafford star.

Manchester United are mulling over a £16million bid from French side Paris Saint-Germain for striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The Ligue 1 side have recently been bought by Qatari billionaires and are looking to spend their wealth in making PSG a top team once again according to Le Parisien.

The new owners are willing to begin a Manchester City style spending spree and want Berbatov to form a dream attack with Lorient star and Tottenham Hotspur target Kevin Gameiro.
Berbatov finished joint top scorer in the Premier League this season but he lost his place in the starting XI to Mexican Javier Hernandez.

The 30-year-old was also left out of the Champions League final squad completely as Michael Owen got the nod in his place.

Berbatov said he was embarrassed by the axe but is determined to carry on at Old Trafford at least until his contract expires in 12 months.

“To be honest, I was in the dressing room,” he said. “I watched the final from there. This was embarrassing for me – that I was not included in the group.
“I didn’t want people to see the pain in my eyes.

“I will remain at United. I will fight for my place and I will fight for title number 20. If I was a man who gave up easily, I would never be here in the first place.

“Starting July 4, everything begins all over again – my personal fight to be in the first team, and for United to win more titles.”

Barcelona are ready to go to £40 million for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Barcelona are ready to go to £40 million for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

The Daily Star says Champions League winners Barcelona have been trying to land Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas for two years but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has repeatedly made it clear he has no desire to sell his captain.

But the Spanish champs just refuse to go away and have agreed to up their bid by £10m in an attempt to prise him from Arsenal’s grasp.

A source close to Barca said last night: “They still have not spoken formally to Arsenal about him.
“They had wanted to do it while they were in London for the Champions League Final but it never happened. But they will not give up.”

As well as the improved cash offer for Fabregas, Barca would also allow Arsenal to choose one of their young players as part of any deal.

SOURCE: Tribalfootball
Barcelona will of course push to sign Cesc Fabregas this summer but as previously there is no compunction for Arsenal to sell so a lot depends on the Gunners captain and whether he pushes for an Emirates Stadium exit and one wonders if it makes sense for the Spanish international to leave for the Nou Camp when he would surely just end up warming the bench until Xavi calls it day, which appears to be no day soon.

This source doesn’t state which Barcelona players would be on offer to the North London club as part of the deal but the likes of Bojan, Thiago Alcantara, Nolito and Jonathan dos Santos and Ibrahim Afellay have been linked with moves to Arsenal in the past.

Wenger has his work cut out keeping Arsenal’s top players at the club with Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy both stalling on signing new contracts so he will surely do all he can to prevent his skipper leaving this summer. Pep Guardiola has stated his admiration for Fabregas but the Catalan club is apparently on a slightly uneasy financial footing and can therefore not make huge offers, hence the need to add players into the deal.

Given that Fabregas has spent eight years at Arsenal, mounting up over 300 appearances, but has managed to secure one solitary FA Cup success in the process, so one can understand if Cesc decided to leave the club but a move to Barcelona may end up being a mistake given that first team football may well be a difficulty.

Ashley Young will decide on Liverpool or Manchester Utd transfer next week

Ashley Young has sidelined discussions over his future until after England’s Euro 2012 qualifier with Switzerland at Wembley on Saturday.

The winger has only 12 months remaining of his Aston Villa contract and is being strongly linked with a move to either Manchester United or Liverpool.

Young said: ‘I have said I’ll speak to the manager [ Gerard Houllier] and chairman [Randy Lerner] at the end of the season.

'I’ve got to concentrate on this game and then see what happens regarding talking to them.’

Young, who has refused to sign an improved or extended contract with Villa, is hoping to build on his impressive performances for his country against Denmark, Wales and Ghana.

‘I feel, with the last two games I’ve started, I’ve done really well,’ he added.

‘I think I’m giving the manager a lot more to think about with my performances.’

The Villa wide man scored seven goals and made nine assists in 37 Premier League appearances last season.

Fernandes wants 51% of West Ham for two bob - Sullivan

West Ham chairman David Sullivan has dismissed Tony Fernandes' bid to buy the club as derisory.

Fernandes, the Malaysian businessman behind AirAsia and the Lotus Formula One team, announced yesterday he had submitted an offer for the club he supports.

But Sullivan told the Evening Standard: "Tony Fernandes wanted to buy 51% of the club for two bob.

"He thinks somehow that we are desperate to have him involved or desperate for the small amount of money he offered for 51% of the club."

Fernandes first expressed an interest in taking over West Ham in 2009 but he lost out on that occasion to Sullivan and his business partner David Gold.

Sullivan and Gold do want to attract new investors into a club that is saddled with debts that could rise to over £100million following relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

"We are not looking to sell the club but, as we have always said, we would love co-investors to join us in rebuilding West Ham United, which has been our aim ever since we took charge back in January 2010," said Sullivan.

"In the event that a serious investor came forward as was the case at Chelsea and Manchester City, we would naturally consider it for the good of the club - but this is certainly not the case in this instance."

West Ham yesterday appointed Sam Allardyce as the club's 14th manager and Gold confirmed he is under no pressure to sell star players like Scott Parker.

Matthew Upson is out of contract and is expected to leave while Parker, West Ham's player of the year, is sure to interest a number of Premier League clubs.

Striker Carlton Cole and goalkeeper Robert Green could also be summer targets for top-flight clubs.

Gold said: "Will he be able to keep our best players? He has got the remit to do so and we hope in some cases he will."

After thirty long fruitless years, the Citizens finally ended their Silverware drought wining the FA cup at Wembley against Stoke City, the same day their derby rivals Manchester United clinched the Barclays Premiere League.

Manchester City F.C, founded as St. Mark’s (West Gorton), in 1880 and who later became Ardwick Association F.C in 1887, have managed this season, not just to win the FA cup but also clinched automatic qualification for next years UEFA Champions League by finishing third in the Barclays Premiere League. City’s efforts to achieve major silverware in the last three years is worth acknowledgement but the lack of foresight has resulted in financial losses for the club, The belief at Eastlands that progress is inevitable has worked positively for City. Perhaps City’s lineup can be considered as the most fantasy oriented in the world after Real Madrid C.F who re-established their fantasy based expensive lineup the Galácticos

This is one of the latest Premiership football shirts to be released for next season will be traditional red and black which came from former assistant manager Malcolm Allison, who believed that adopting the colours of AC Milan would inspire City to glory.

City won just the Charity shield wearing the red-black striped kit in 1972/1973. Lets hope they can achieve more this time around.

Their third kit is dark navy blue with light blue lining. City will now star amongst Europe’s Elite, playing in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the tournament’s history. Celebrate their historic achievement by buying their new kit for the 2011/2012. Lets hope that City continue their progress and surprise us by winning big next season.

Spurs line up sensational move for Drogba

Didier Drogba looks set to snub a move to Italian giants AC Milan and make the trip across London to Spurs.

The north Londoners are in pole position to land the Chelsea striker whose days at Stamford Bridge have been numbered since the arrival of Fernando Torres for a British transfer record fee of £50m.

A striker is a top priority for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and 33-year-old Drogba fits the profile with 145 goals in 306 games for Chelsea.

Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch scored just 17 Premier League goals between them last season, one of the reasons Spurs dropped out of the Champions League places.

Drogba is Redknapp’s top target, but his wages are the only stumbling block. Spurs will have to smash their wage structure to land the Ivorian who is also attracting interest from Manchester City, a move which would see him united with Ivory Coast teammates Kolo and Yaya Toure.

The Stamford Bridge clear-out has already started with defender Michael Mancienne joining Hamburg while the futures of Michael Essien, Alex, Salomon Kalou, Yuri Zhirkov and Florent Malouda still remain uncertain.
