Dwight Yorke believes Ryan Giggs will put the trauma of the past week behind him when he lines up for Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday night.
The flying winger has found himself at the centre of a media storm after it was revealed he had an affair with former Big Brother contestant Imogen Thomas.
But Yorke, a former Old Trafford team-mate of Giggs, insists the recent furore won’t affect his performance against Barcelona.
He told talkSPORT: “Giggs will have seen it with past and present players. It’s one of those things that happens, but I don’t think it will affect him. If anything it will inspire him.
“Knowing Giggsy as I do, this is the sort of thing that will spur him on to show people what he’s all about.
“Not that he has to justify himself or prove himself to anyone. What he’s done in the game speaks volumes and he still has a burning desire inside him.
“He will want to contribute [at Wembley], which is what he’s been doing throughout the season for his team.”
